Antonio Pozzi was born and grew up in Genova, Italy. He graduated from University of Milan, Italy in 1997. He trained as a surgeon at The Ohio State University where he did an internship and a residency. He remained there to join the surgery faculty as a clinical instructor. He recently joined the faculty at the University of Florida as Assistant Professor of small animal orthopedics. He earned his MS degree after completing a study on biomechanics of the canine meniscus. Pozzi was awarded the Mark S. Bloomberg Memorial Resident Research Award for his work on meniscus in 2004 and the Hartman & Wiley Scholarship for an academically outstanding surgical resident in 2005. Clinical research interests include meniscus pathology and treatment, arthroscopy, biological fracture fixation and total joint replacement.
